Crete Car Rental worked really well for me for my 4/day trip in Crete. The rate was really reasonable and they delivered and picked up at our hotel in Chania and Heraklion which is extremely helpful. Surprisingly our car read a full size Audi although I'd only paid for a mid-size. The car was not new, but looked and drove great nonetheless. I would certainly use Crete Car Rental again.

Our flight to Crete was delayed and it was after midnight when we landed, but Maria very kindly waited for our arrival and rang me just after we landed. The handover on both pickup and drop off was smooth and trouble free. The car (Toyota Aygo) was quite new, clean and in good condition. Greetings Yiannis! We loved our time in Crete. Such wonderful, hospitable people. We didn't have a single bad experience and had a wealth of excellent ones. Many happy memories. The car hire worked very well. Green Motion were a delight to deal with. We had the ubiquitous white Fiat Panda, which was fine. The Cretan style of driving took a little getting used to but there were no problems. My only comment: perhaps better directions to the drop off at Heraklion Airport would be useful. It is a bit confusing on arrival. We loved Natalia's Houses. Very comfortable rooms and delightful hosts. The cafe in the village was a great spot for an evening drink. Arcus also worked very well for us. Very atmospheric conversion of ancient Venetian buildings and again our host could not have been more helpful. Delicious breakfasts served on our terrace. Above all, thank you for your kind guidance and help. We hope to be back. Best wishes

Hi Yiannis, Thanks for your email and everything with the booking was great and a very good experience. The price was excellent and compared to large booking agencies was at least €100 cheaper, plus the price included a free 2nd driver. I would definitely recommend you to other people for car hire. Our holiday in Crete exceeded our expectations and would definitely come back to explore the island more. The only comment I would say would be to provide a little more directions to the Green Motion office as we went outside the airport and couldn't find it and had to ask someone as the location wasn't obvious. Green Motion luckily were able to accommodate our early drop off, as this was a lot earlier than their office opened. Many thanks and enjoy the sunshine. Philip

Dear Yiannis,Thanks, almost everything was ok. The only thing that went wrong was the type of insurance what booked did not match with what we get. The guy behind the desk told us that we only had the standard, however we where sure we paid extra for a premium insurance. I cannot tell you how happy we were with all the services beginning with the reservation, the pick-up from the kind colleagues at Heraklion Airport and the drop-off at Chania Airport.
Everything was up to standard and it made our stay even more enjoyable. One short positiv story when we were at the check-in at Heraklion Airport. There was a young couple next to us, picking up their reservation vehicle. Their credit cards weren't working properly and the young lady began to cry out of desperation. Your colleague from the car rental calmed her sweetly and assured her, that everything will be ok and that they would definitely not be leaving without a car. He calmed her so gently and it was wonderful to see such incredible service from your colleagues!

Hi, The car rental was fine. Took us a bit to work out Green Motion was not as you exit the terminal on the left but was actually a walk down the street! After arriving at rental company everything went perfectly, very professional, friendly and helpful. On return of the car as it was out of hours, again there was someone there as arranged and told they would be (at 4.30am!!). A would highly recommend this company and Maria was fantastic. We are actually returning to Crete 2020 as we loved it so much, especially Plakias. Can you quote for a vehicle pick up from Chania airport and return to same....11th July to 24th July.? Haven't boked our flights yet so cant give times at this stage. We don't need a newish car and are actually happier with older models if available. There are just two of us again, so economy size is ideal , preferably 5 door though, either manual or auto, whatever is cheaper. Thanks,

Hi Yiannis, We loved Greece and Crete was wonderful. The car was great and no issues. We did face some confusion on where to drop the car off at the Souda port but another car company helped us. All in all the car was good and we'd recommend your firm to others. The initial dropoff in Heraklion was very convenient.

The whole rental car process was very good, I had no bad issues at all. The receipt of the car at the airport was pleasant and returning the car was easy.

I was grateful for hiring a small car as the mountain roads are not wide so I would just make sure that people do not hire cars too large for what they need.

Our trip to Crete was great and I am sure that we will be back 1 day. I will of course look forward to hiring another car from you.

Good evening Yiannis We are doing very well thank you. We enjoyed our holiday in lovely Crete. The only thing that could have been better would have been to have more time there. Car hire went as planned. It was very convenient to pick up the car at our hotel and the drop off was very easy. We loved all the places that we stayed at and enjoyed lovely sunny weather, warm clear sea, good food and wine. We managed to visit Makrigialos and agree that this would have also been a very good place to stay. We didn’t get chance to see Kato Zakros but perhaps we can go there on our next visit.  Dear Yiannis, All went well and we covered a fair amount of ground including getting to the Omalos plateau above Kato Symi in Viannos. The car was the right size, booking in and returning went smoothly. The full insurance was very expensive but meant we had no worries about coming back to the car to find someone had scratched it. There have been many letters in the Observer and Guardian travel pages recently recounting horror stories of charges raised by insurance companies. In the "old days" when we first dealt with your company you always offered genuinely full insurance. The roads are much better these days but it still makes sense to be covered even if it means a few less ouzos. We plan to come back next year, probably in the autumn and would aim again for a few days travelling before catching the bus down to Sfakia and heading for Anopoli and Loutro. We may start at Chania. We absolutely loved our time in Moni. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer and didn't build in a night or two in Chania before we went home. From the friendly folk at the Green Motion car hire to very helpful Konstantina at Monastery Esate, to the lovely people at Moni taverna, we wouldn't have changed a thing. Dear Yiannis, We had enjoyed our vacation on Crete. The Car was more than satisfactory, we have used it for about 60% of the planned time, mostly because of the fact that our kids prefered local entertainment. Next time I would take a mix of a car with a bike rack and a bike, of course, that would suit my personal preferences, in case my family decided to spend time on a beach for most of a day. Kalimera Yiannis -not so sunny here today -we miss the sunshine! We can honestly say that our holiday in Crete was one of the very best holidays we have ever had. We did some lovely walks in gorges, sea -swimming, Knossos and Chania -all lovely and wonderful,hospitable people and the delicious ,healthy food . Kalimera Yiannis! I want you to know the rental was great and I will recommend you to anyone I know going to Crete! There was no delay on the pick up and I thought the service was great. When I come back to Crete, I will definitely rent from you again. The only item I would say was an inconvenience from time to time was the GPS. We didn't have a manual and it wasn't easy to figure out how to program destinations into it. I often had to use my mobile's GPS to figure out locations. Maybe there is a guide to the GPS that can be left in the car? But that all was very minor. I thought the trip was great and thank you again! Warmly,

Many thanks for all your help with our arrangements. The car hire went smoothly and your directions to the Villa Kerasia were excellent. We found our way there in the middle of the night (thanks to EasyJet delay) with no problem at all. When we arrived Babis was waiting for us - lovely man - kind and helpful and the hotel was superb. All we could have hoped for and more! I wished we could have stayed longer. My husband was impressed, also, with the other guests qualifications which included a surgeon and several Phds so we had lots of interesting (intellectual!) conversations!! Thank you again. I returned on Monday from two lovely weeks in Greece. I am particularly grateful for the terrific service I received in renting a car on Crete. Because of an air controllers strike, I and my companions missed our connection through Athens, so I wasn't on the anticipated flight in Chania. Nevertheless, after a call from Athens, the Crete-Car-Rental.com representative met our new flight in Chania with a car and all the paperwork for our rental, despite the late hour. The paper was painless and quick. Three days later, we drove into the departures area of the airport at Heraklion and there was a different representative to receive the car--no looking around for returns, no bus or hassle with luggage. I can't remember for how many years I have been your customer now, and I certainly intend to add some more. There have been some sad moments in my life, like 5 years ago, I think you'll remember. But Creteremains a constant value, and so is your service whenever I return there. Your cars are always in excellent working order, generally with just a few tens of kilometers on the meter. Never had any technical trouble with any of them. It's a nice thing that even the smallest cars are now all equipped with airco, but that would be a sign of the times. Kalimera Giannis, I was looking for leaving a review but I was not able to find any place for comments, I am pleased that now I am given the opportunity. I have to admit that the guys from the car rental company were very kind and helpful, the car was as agreed during the booking 4 door with a baby car seat in a good condition. Even though we had some delay in delivering back the car but no issues arise as the guy there told us that there is no problem. The only think I would have changed is the baby car seat, it was safe for the child however very dirty. In conclusion our choice was Value for money, special thanks to Mr. Giannis for overall communication and help, his prompt replies to all of ours queries and modifications we had to made due to our hour flight change. Absolutely. the service was excellent. the people we met when we picked up the car were very helpful and were extremely accommodating, particularly since we picked up the car in Chania and returned it in Hiraklion.

The service was perfect, we rent a medium class D car (1200), it was almost new, with a good engine and very clean interiors. It was a pleasure to drive in Crete, even in offroad situations. Lowest price on the web with very high quality. Highly recommended!

Our experience with Crete-Car-Rental was very positive. Setting up the rental was straightforward, and the agency was very responsive to my questions before arriving in Crete. The car was delivered to our hotel at the appointed time, and it was exactly the car we had expected and at the price agreed. The car performed well during the trip. Crete-Car-Renatal picked up the car from our new hotel in Chania before our departure from Crete. I and my fellow travelers were very satisfied. I hope that helps. Yiannis, Thank you so much for the email. Many thanks to you and your company for being such an integral part of our trip! The car definitely made it very comfortable for us to visit many of the great towns/cities of Crete and allowed for us to come and go as we please! The one major negative we experienced with the car was the headlights. They were not calibrated properly which made for driving at night quite uncomfortable. The headlights were aimed to high and did not provide enough light on the road. I recommend that the car be serviced and the headlights adjusted for future clients. Other than that, everything went very well! Thank you again for contacting me and I do hope we can count on you again on future visits!

Yiannis hello, I hope you're all right. No matter if we did not meet in Crete, I understand very well that your work is very important and very tiring for tourism in the summer. After this season fortunately or unfortunately (I don't know) you'll have to rest because there will be few tourists. We had a wonderful two week vacation in Chania, but it was too hot, however better the sun than the rain which came to Crete in August. For the car rental service we can reply: everything was perfect in Heraklion. We had a great reception, employees of the GreenMotion Car and Van Rental explained very well the terms of the contract and they delivered a great car. So everything is "OK". If we have to make a judgment with points from 0 to 5 we would vote more, for example 7. So if we go back again to Crete (and we hope "YES"), sure we write an e:mail to you, to make a new reservation, in February or March 2016. Now we leave you, wishing you all the best and especially good job.

It was great driving around in Crete and I was very pleased with the VW which we got (was this a nice upgrade? thank you!) and the GPS system.  Returning the car at the airport was very easy and convenient, which was great! Driving around in Crete was amazing and we got the chance to see so much more than we could without the flexibility and convenience of the car, although it can be quite scary driving around in the cities due to the very narrow lanes! Nevertheless, it was a great great experience and I hope to be able to visit Greece again in late July or August - any recommendations (especially for food and fun)? Hello Yiannis, Thank you for following up. The car hire went very smoothly, the Budget rep turned up slightly early to deliver - a charming and efficient young woman. The car was excellent - I hadn't driven a VW Up! before but it was a pleasant experience - and the a/c worked well (always a bonus). As I never had more than one passenger but we both had luggage a larger boot (trunk) would have been handy, but it really didn't matter much. I left the key at reception at Castello and the car disappeared without comment or incident. The open jaw delivery and collection saved me much wasted time and trouble. All in all a very good service and I would come straight back to you another time, thank you! I used the car to visit Elafonissi (over touristed, the authorities should consider a booking system like some US National Parks use to limit environmental impact) and Preveli (delightful), which I had missed out of my tour of the island last year and to transfer from Kato Stalos to Rethymnon to Sissi. Next time I would like to hike the Samaria Gorge - do you have any ideas for the best way for a solo traveller to accomplish this independently without taking an excursion bus?

am quiet pleased about the service. What could you do better: As I left Chania by ferry boat, I had to let the car on a parking, unclosed with the key inside the car. That made me a little bit nervous - I did not want the car to be stolen an I also did not know where exactly I had to let the car. May be it would help to have a special marked parking place and a seaürate key deposit. Anyway, if I come to Crete again, I try to get my Panda again

Our trip went very well and the van worked out wonderfully. The size was perfect and the car was easy to drive around. We appreciated being greeted in the airport and all of the help that the rental agent gave. The only thing I would change was receiving the car on almost empty, but other than that the experience was great.  Thank you again, and hoping to return soon!

The only part I was a bit disappointed about was the vehicle that I received.  I ordered a VW golf or equivalent and received a much larger vehicle.  Nothing wrong with the vehicle but had I known it was going to be something larger i could have brought two others with me on the trip.  I told them I would not have room for all of us, but easily could have fit everyone in the car.  It would have been good to know and help save us some money and to share the amazing experience with two others. All in all it was a great experience, and the drive across Crete will be something I will remember for a very long time.  The island was beautiful and it was nice being able to stop along at different beaches along the way.
